Hello Olyphant,
That's a very interesting observation and interpretation of the book of the Revelation. Something to ponder. But what about the number 666 being "the number of a man's name" or the actual receiving of a mark?
Rev 13:16-17
And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:
And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
This is interesting because approximately 300 years ago, the Roman Catholic Church proclaimed that all of it's people must receive a mark. They could put it either on their hand or their forehead. This was the mark of the Ash which began on Ash Wednesday. People who would not have this mark could not buy or sell in the markets. Ash, of course, is carbon. In fact, this placing of the mark on the forehead is still practiced today among many Roman Catholics.
