I think Essan raises an interesting point regarding the eccentricity of planet X.

Consider Kepler's third law. It is a law that does relate orbital period to semi-major axis, but as I understand it, the law says nothing about eccentricity. The semi-major axis of an orbit could be the radius of a circle, could it not? Thus, a planet with an orbital period of 3600 years would have a semi-major axis far greater than Pluto, but nothing can be claimed as to eccentricity. This is my understanding at least. Does anybody else agree? Can anybody tell me what evidence Sitchen had that made him believe in such an extreme eccentricity for this planet X?
