Okay....I can tell you that I am about 98% positive that this thing was not a cow. It had the enourmous rounded hind end like a bear. No it wasn't as small as a black bear, which is what I initially thought when we first layed eyes on it, from a distance. Watching this thing walk, with it's head down and meandering from side to side like a large bear, made me think...BEAR. ~I grew up working on farms in our area. So, I'd be curious to know where exactly this Highland Cattle farm is, 9 miles from Bandon. And if it was in operation in the early 80's.~ When the head rose up and the eyes looked towards us, it was not the glow of moonlight that hit it...they were literally glowing a very dark amber. The face of this creature did not have furry hair on it...it was like a normal cows face and possibly had closer together eyes than a normal cow, they weren't so far apart. It's horns were approx. 4-5 inches long and very pointed. The fact that it obviously kept up with our pace parallel to us, as we sped up and slowed down purposely, really creeped us out. There was no flute noise, actually like I said, there was not a sound and no wind blowing which is in itself odd. And now that I've been reading the skinwalker posts I wouldn't discount that as being a possiblility also. Bandon sits on the Coquille River which is where the Coquille (Ko-Quell) Indians come from. I'm beginning to think I should at least write down all of my experiences and those I've been told of from friends and family who have lived in this area for generations. When I piece them all together its a wide array of things that have happened, but no one usually talks about it to outsiders. It's the type of thing most natives (& some newbies) acknowledge but they don't talk about it. My friends and I used to get together and swap stories of our experiences. Some wildly unbelievable stories, which initially sounded crazy, like my beast story, but they were all usually verified by the next older generation saying "Yep, that's what happened". I appreciate all of you and your input it's been nice to be able to "talk" about this and at least have the story paid attention to. I know it sounds unbelievable but I had to put it out there.
