I have to agree, Oregon coast is an odd place indeed. I am an ex-Portlander myself and I even heard stories about odd stuff going on along the coast, not to mention coven activity. I had an experience like Briffits' (way way up there) where I was driving to the Inn at Spanish Head in fog so thick that I couldn't see two feet down the hood of my car. The hotel didn't think I was going to possibly make it and when we all arrived, they were so amazed that we managed their curvy road in that dense fog that they opened up their kitchen and fixed us a late dinner as a reward.

I live in New Mexico now, having just moved last month from Arizona. I lived on the Navajo reservation for a couple years and have seen things that baffle the mind as well out there. Sometimes, people are unsure of what to think when you tell them what you saw. It doesn't sound plausible or it must be something else. Sometimes, the only solace is just knowing that you saw what you saw. I haven't seen the creature you saw but I have seen a cat roll into a dog the size of a bear that was actually a human under all of that.

Were the eyes actually glowing or was it like the refraction of light in a cat's eyes? The Navajo lore is that there is a tribe in the Pacific NW that is related to them and skinwalkers exist within the Navajo. Just wondering if you encountered a Pacific NW version of one. From a closer look, a skinwalker looks extremely bizarre. It will be walking on all fours as opposed to being bipedal. The gait is lumbering and awkward. My husband said that the one he saw in the face (perturbing melted human/animalish face) had red glowing eyes. Not exactly what you saw but kind of similiar. A bizarre seemingly intelligient thing that just isn't quite right and makes you think this is a bad thing, instinctively.

I wouldn't seek it out, whatever it was. I know in some sense perhaps you would like to see it again for confirmation but I would advise against it. I'm sure that if this sighting of your beast was as memorable as mine, you can probably replay it over and over again, in detail by memory.
