If you investigate, you will see the sources asserting some kind of nuclear event and radioactivity at Mohenjo Daro are nonexistent e.g. fake. No actual archaeological journal supports any of this. But here is a logical way to understand this: actual trinitite today has quite low radioactive emission, because the really radioactive components half lives have decayed so much since the atomic tests at Trinity some 70 years ago. How radioactive do you think Hiroshima is today? Not very. If hypothetically an atomic weapon detonated on a city thousands of years ago, how much radiation would be detected today? Basically zero.
So yes, a few meteors probably have detonated in air bursts over ancient cities and wiped them out. Tall el-Hamman is a good candidate for that. Mohenjo Daro is not.
