Rob you have a classic view of "marriage" who maybe not the one of this time....... For me it is obvious that there was no marriage in the sense we understand it today but all the account of anointing and washing the feet and drying with her hair are screaming of a "sacred marriage or initiation"
in which "sex" is involved.... from there you can draw the conclusions you want and I don't think it would be reported in the Bible......
But it would explain why the father of the Magdelene didn't want to have anything to do with her anymore. Think about it she was "sacred" in the Temple "sacred hierodulae" and she elopes with a "magician".........
well at least it is the picture I got from reading on the subject.......
For me what is not in the Bible speaks louder that what is like some
deafening silence to certain of my posts. I know it is difficult to explain
because I just can "feel" it. But you get the idea.
