"The point is that the only way the mind can know the self, and experience the difference between the self and the rest of reality, is through the elaborate, restless effort of the brain"; Why God Won't Go Away, 2001; Newberg, D'Aquili, Rause.

"Neurology cannot completely explain how such a thing can happen--how a non-material mind can rise from mere biological functions?"

This is a post about awareness of the mind.

I wrote this March 12, 2019, just before retiring. It had to come out. It is the obvious thing that matters. It is yours and mine, however it is understood. I took a break from posting this for awhile, and had forgotten it; all to consider it's worth.

You may reciprocate the challenge.

Consciousness, at every level of it's revelation, from the simple sensory inputs and the responsive interactions with the material universe, is an invisible reality which can't be quantified by material distillation and it's conscious implications. Despite the elaborations of the successful brain to function in every degree possible, you cannot see, hear, smell, taste or touch to even a minor degree,or realize it's presence; that is the mind. The mind, or self made by the brain is it's own realm of existence that just happens to blend with materiality in the brain/body, to effect its own reality.

The material universe acts as the major companion with consciousness; teaching all aspects of mind through multifarious displays of the truth of the mind. The brain, a material existence, is a collaborator with the mind, which cannot reasonably be observed anywhere in the brain's materiality. Brain scans only register results of processes, not actual thoughts. The mind can only be observed by its own rules of interaction; by far its own essence of unobservability in the brain!!

This is the Incident; (occuring, or likely to occur in connection with some other material happening). The same symbiosis is relative to all levels of consciousness, leading up to the very human, material brain. No level of consciousness is exempt from this symbiosis with the material universe; all levels of consciousness do an interplay to reveal their own destinies within the framework of the universe, distinctly at those levels where consciousness resides in the material realm of its own particular existence as the brain/body.

Therefore, the invisible consciousness has a partner in revealing its presence. It has an equal interaction displayed in the material universe. The brain and thought both combine the very strategic interactions of being and living. Both consciousness and materiality are interlinked to the essential goal of existence. The fact of both materiality and consciousness is through the symbiotic relationship. The evolution of consciousness is in the vast outlay of the universe.

Neither wisdom, power, nor exception can deny the entrance of either mind and universe into the drama of mind and matter played out throughout time.

Revised.

Mind and matter are eternally the same
