Hmm...a photograph can capture a moment just as it was, but even the atoms of the inks creating the image are excited in being able to perform their function as inks. We cannot see their excitement because we just perceive ink; we can only perceive atoms through certain kinds of technology. But...do a trick with time by speeding it up and we can watch the inks of a photo fade away as electrons depart the atomic structure and the protons and neutrons fall apart, leaving behind a blank piece of paper which is also undergoing a similar deconstruction that will eventually become dust and then nothing at all.
Hmm...all these atomic parts don’t disappear from existence though...they somehow merge back into the very fabric of time and go off to create other things as time keeps unfolding, allowing atomic parts to form other structures in their ways. But what happens when atomic parts have spent their use in all the ways they can be used? They become something that seemingly is a memory in time and have no real form besides what we might consider Dark Matter...akin to the exhalation of breath once it has done its job in keeping the body alive...the breath still pervades space but it is less because of how the lungs have used it, and yet it still exists in an altered form. It has to exist...nothing escapes existence...just transforms within existence.
I guess we may still consider Dark Matter as being alive though, as much as atomic parts are alive before they come together to create an atom. If we consider Dark Matter to be the most prevalent form within existence, we might accept it as time’s memory which lives on and aids in the expansion of time and space because it fills up the past while the future keeps on forming the now. The odd thing about this is that Dark Matter pervades all because it is the ‘after’ of each and every moment of the most basic things in existence which create the ‘now’. It is only through a channelling of this Dark Matter away from Matter that it creates its own form in the gaps between material spaces, and these gaps can be perceived by certain kinds of technology as vast, interconnected tendrils, pools and oceans out amid and between galaxies. In such as that, we can perceive Dark Matter because it takes up space, but it is not the kind of space we might be used to...space itself is not empty, not a void...Dark Matter itself seems to be a void because there is nothing living, just a memory of life that has been broken down so much that it can’t do anything but hang around because there is only the Universe and nothing outside it...everything that has ever been is still around within the Universe...and the very skin of the Universe is time forming space behind it,
We estimate existence and the Universe as being some 14 billion years old, and yet we also estimate the size of the Universe as being some 93 billion light years across, which somehow makes a problem in the numbers because time and space are supposed to be intimately linked and support each other while verifying each other. 14 billion years of age would have a size of 28 billion light years across, which somehow means time is way out in front of existence and seemingly shows how large our Universe will age before everything is Dark Matter...all just a memory depicted as space which is 93 billion light years across, and no larger...will never get any larger because it has always been this large...existence was seemingly just a very small thing at the centre of this vast amount of time and space, and has been filling it up from the very beginning.
There is a strange problem in this: once Dark Matter fills all, it is all one thing with one size and no comparison...it is a memory of existence after existence has been spent...it is the blank piece of paper that was once a photograph. The wondrous thing about it is, once existence has fulfilled its use of actually occurring in time and space, it knows how to do it...and does so over and over again.
Ron, you are quite correct in your perception of what is going on, but you have tried to locate one stepping-off point as being some kind of species projecting itself outwards into other areas of existence and the Universe, when in fact you have formed a description which is much like any description that folk have come up with which have become religions, beliefs, stories and science...all doing its best to define what existence is, or aspects of that in all manner of ways. Even my description is just me doing my best at the same thing: to describe existence. But you are hindered in your description because you cannot describe how that species came to be able to project itself...you create a situation which just keeps pushing the goal posts backwards where upteen such scenarios are possible...species after species all projecting themselves out and it all becomes dreamy because none could ever be sure which is the original and which is the ultimate projection.
This in itself is our situation with existence, the Universe, time and space: we are in the middle of the entire ‘moment’...always in the middle of a great loop of existence that always has to have its origin right in the middle...no beginning, no ending, just one continuous middle point...the always and ever NOW.
Yeah, we get another strange problem, don’t we: What is responsible for originating the NOW?
I guess it is the ability for just one seemingly insignificant but essential ingredient in the ALL: the ability for NOTHING to perceive EVERYTHING, and define that they are one and the same thing. I guess we will never know what originated this because it could be any one thing or all together...and that right there is the funny part: every one thing combined together is all. Just because we can perceive individuality doesn’t mean we are separate from the Universe, does it. It just means that the ability to perceive is the all important part...and even the parts that make atoms perceive what they are and what they are not...for while their surroundings are not them, they can certainly be their surroundings...all it takes is connecting with other things and a moment in-which to transform.
Well, I guess I’ll mull this over because it isn’t often I get to actually define my belief...it’s been a long time since I have done this, and then it was only through something akin to emotion rather than definition. I can probably do this a little bit differently by using either better descriptions as words, or better analogies...or even do the science a little better if I have got something a little wrong. But that wouldn’t detract from what I believe...just say it a little differently is all.
