Well, unless you can produce strong and more up-to-date information about the way we act and think, then, as far as I know, that is the best and most reliable information we have at present. the fight or flight instinct was one of the many behaviours evidently which evolved and were passed on so that they survived long enough for the human species to evolve!Quote
That pre-conscious thought Susan is a great definition for our “soul.” You seem to be talking about a very powerful force! Please tell us more about this powerful “prior selection” operating in our body?
I can't see any point in calling it a soul, although I, like just about every other human being, have experienced a an ecstatic joy at various times in my life, and I used to say,
e.g. that part of say The Liebestod from Tristan and Isolde goes right to the soul. I would use other words nowadays, having realised over the second half of my life, and particularly since the advent of the internet, just how many other interpretations and definitions of that word, and quite a few others, there are.
it is, of course, a very powerful force - as evidenced by the survival of life up to and including our species.
