Ray, it looks like you are "profiling" due to your own status. I AM an artist, poet (sometimes), philosopher (layman) and overall student of anything having to do with brain/mind knowledge. Those are my habits. So, yes, I have never done the protocol of scientific endeavors. Fine.
Yet I still think and struggle in this new world we are in. If science is going to "belong" to society, then the hightower mentality will have to journey to the "valley" of human interests: everyday concerns. If you as a scientist want to participate in the world in which we all live, educated or not, then try to explain what your activities are so that others may at least get some kind of understanding on how it all works and how much can society understand your practices at the nominal level of intelligence.
Of course, I read Pribam (did not enjoy the tech talk) and that very short Kuhn link you gave me. Whatever!!
This is a voluntary participation website.
I just started reading Quantum Gravity by Clause Birkholz. It is challenging yet fascinating.
That's all I have to say.
One remains a seed as yet to germinate
And florish. A seed is a potential forest, in due time. What shall one do to begin?
