You have chosen to go against the natural, built in feelings that we belong to a greater whole. So you have shut the door for potential wonderful experiences, in this life anyway. Your choice. Maybe in another earth life you will be different.
Many a scientist has learned to become atheists through the beliefs of the establishment at the learning faculties in our present time = a few hundred years.
That is a very short time, and it is definitely changing, but you have chosen not to see that.
No worries, you will find out. And yes, there are actually a lot of people who know something that you don't, not because we are "better" or "smarter", but simply because we have an urge to find out. You have had the opposite urge. You think you have found truth in the old style science.
Fine for you, if it works for you! :)

I prefer my outlook and that of Sheldrake and heaps of other more modern scientists.

Since this began as a post about the moon, maybe we are all lunatics! You probably see some of us a such! It does not matter.
