They don't even bother to try to guess or think up a hypothesis. Even the small number of scientists - who are usually in the as far as I am aware, psychology etc branches of science - know, I presume, that they don't stand a chance of doing it, let alone of convincing the non-believing ones. There are medical doctors who are believers of course, but they have to put aside their faith beliefs when it comes to patients.
