Well, technically, a Robot also has hardware, moving parts. Otherwise, you have a synthetic "brain" in a remote. Actually, there is no independent brain whatsoever in a remote. The smartphones we use just have a bigger brain capacity than a simple remote. I studied electronics and a remote is really only a set of controls that are done by chips of circuitry. Nothing fancy, but effective. There is no brain in a remote, but there is in a smartphone, though very simple like a gecko. My phone mostly runs a set of programs, but it IS INTERACTIVE, slightly. I get notices, I get spellcheck when I write. And all of those marvelous functions are MOSTLY PROGRAMS, NOT AI intelligence. A truly interactive device may be next in the level of future devises. For now, the smartphone is really quite "simple-minded".
Mind and matter are eternally the same
