Why would any civilization, advanced or not, need a canal in that spot?
Good question – there are a lot of unanswered questions. We still do not know what the pyramids were for!
Great pictures but looks natural to me.
The Mitchell River runs over about 6 klms of very flat ground. It flows straight – most rivers meander when flowing over flat ground! If anything – the Mitchell River is following a ridge – most rivers flow along a valley – its due to gravity. Then there are the Silt Jetties – silt normally settles to the lowest point – so why didn’t the silt that forms the Silt Jetties settle at the bottom of Jones Bay or Lake King?
