Wow - that's pretty powerful. I'm not going to argue with the article, it's an excellent reference point, but I do find the use of the phrase 'it is thought...' a little concerning and makes me think that maybe they couldn't conclude for sure what was happening. Still, fascinating, none the less.

Where does that leave my question...

I suppose, if we say this article is true, that would mean a blind from birth person could experience the same 'trip' on DMT and a sighted person. Which wouldn't move us forward in our understanding of what consciousness is and what the different types are and indeed what that means about the reality we experience in normal consciousness.
