Information from all sources flows towards us and we reach out into that flow and let something attach itself to our awareness, and we most certainly can appreciate what it is but also we can most certainly let it sweep around us. All depends on whether it is worth taking notice of or not.
I guess comparing our position in life's flow is good as a river, and stepping into it...and taking up a position according to what our strength can handle in a certain depth...and the deeper we go, the more lean we have to make so we don't get swept away downstream and have to swim to shore and walk back to where we were before...and adjust our wading to a certain depth so we don't get swept away again.
We learn from experience of what we can do amid what surrounds us...and what is not just coming onwards but is also a snag in the river that we didn't see.
Oh, that brain of ours that picks up more information than we are aware of...and we get to dream that extra information away to its proper places: the trash can or secluded away somewhere that raises its head when we are somewhere that it can be of assistance.
I'm sorry that this seems like analogy, but it's all I got. I guess I might let any who are interested in what all this is try something for themselves...it rides the coat-tails of 'dare you try a meditation':
the next time you are in bed and you want to settle yourself towards what you WANT to do tomorrow or the next day or a week from then, try to imagine a track in a forest that you are walking on. You don't have to be specific about the trees or the type of path or the sounds in the distance...just that there is a path in a forest. Be subtle in your awareness of where you are...don't force your surroundings to 'be this or that'...try and settle your mind and just be on a path in a forest. And let your mind take you where it will as you wander along.
The Universe and your brain sifts all kinds of information from what you experience, and being nearly asleep brings out stuff that you didn't even know you were aware of. If you can just follow that path in your mind, you might fall into a scenario where not only have you set the scene, but your unconscious mind and all its information will fill that scene with something to experience.
And you do it while you are asleep!
Imagine what you can do while you are awake...inputting yourself into your surroundings and doing what you should do to get to a goal that is part of who you are...not just as you but as a part of this great big expanse that surrounds you.
Hmm...I might go to a coffee shop or club - depending on the time of day - and be me amongst people. I might do that little thing at work that no-one thinks to do because I got time for it. I might call up a friend and invite them over for a drink or dinner and just let us be us. I might walk down a different street because I feel like it and meet someone I never would have met. I might...do something different....just like in a dream.
