Hi, Miss Susan,

I have to say, I do not recall having shed tears while reading any book. Which is by no means intended to infer I do not become deeply involved in fictional characters, or otherwise). I have been saddened, maddened, brought to the point of throwing a book at the wall, but cry(?), not to my personal recollection. As we are not discussing film or television, I will defer the discussion of book adaptations to either medium to another discussion, though you admit to listen via audio adaptation (which is a different medium than reading). Speaking of listening to audio adaptations of books, I loved 'The Ragman's Son' read by it's author, Kirk Douglas (Mr. Douglas turned 100 this past year, BTW) :)
Thank you for your interesting post - also for the book title. I meant to order that some time ago, but forgot. Now that you have mentioned it, I will see if there's a copy available. I was told some time ago that it was very good.

Susan
