In my opinion that will remain a decent 'theory', however I believe I have found proof which hopefully trump any research done in the channel islands of california, and Dr. Richard Firestone can be damned. I claim that the comet broke up prior to impact, but any scientist in the field would now tell you that recent research suggests that comets are heterogenous objects and often times conglomerations of smaller pieces, what they coin as flying gravel piles.
