Also this means, NO, there is no 'unused electricity', as electricity is not a thing. In physics, usually, electricity is defined also as 'energy', also a non-physical thing. Energy is the ability to do work, nothing is described in actual physical mechanisms.
It is not your fault no standard explanation can provide you with the needed answers as the waters have been muddled since Maxwell equations became gospel and any attempt at a physical explanation was abandoned. Funny fact: Maxwell did try to solve it physically at first, with little particles, but he could not make it work, so he took the easy way out by just giving rough descriptions (his EM equations), that were good enough for electrical engineers to work with but did not explain anything.

If you want to understand something, you have to know the real physical mechanics.
