There is a presupposition in your concept of before the big bang. Time does not automatically have to exist before the first event, time itself is described in General Relativity as a fourth dimension. We humans normally perceive time in one direction, away from the big bang. This need not be a universal. Anti-Matter beings could theoretically conceivably perceive time in the reverse direction to ourselves for example. The creator, or creating influence could stem from something within the boundaries of the universe, but not need to stem from it's edge, the big bang.
