Based on the interpretation of astrophysical data Scholz's Star passed through the territory of the Oort cloud's proposed volume.
The scientist authoring the paper remarked that such a flyby could be estimated every 100,000 years. Which would be 43,000 (99.5% of 43,200) flyby's since the sun's ignition.
Some archaeologists have remarked that cave drawings depicting a large red object may refer to Scholz's star when it was visible in the sky.
It is proposed that the passing of 43,000 different stars within the territory of the Oort cloud would provide sufficient disruption to empty the territory of loose debris.
