I watched the Elon Musk Falcon heavy rocket launch and landing a short time ago:
My interest in Mars is intense, especially the plain of Cydonia, where the "face of Mars" and other interesting formations of "civilized" monuments that NEED TO BE EXPLORED.
It is my contention that Corporate interests will take the challenge and journey to Mars to get the real story about Cydonia, whether civilized or not. No one likes an unsolved mystery, and I don't know if I will live long enough to see it happen. At least now I see a rocket powerful enough to take the trip and return. I hope that a Corporate interests will take the challenge and go to Mars to end the debate on whether there was a civilization or not. Even if there was not, it would end the debate, once and for all.
We humans can achieve anything we put our efforts to, and this may be the MOST IMPORTANT VOYAGE OF ALL TIME!!!
It would satiate our curiosity to know the truth about Mars, and spark intense dialog about our future and past, without contest. If there is nothing to see, then our species can terraform Mars with simple lifeforms. At least it would allow for a second planet to live on at the equatorial region where the temperatures would be tolerable.
There is nothing else to say about all of this. Mars is our future, no doubt about it.
Which neither space nor time touches.
