Wow, that's very interesting, thanks for sharing! We had a discussion about whether or not plants are sentient not too long ago--I'll look for the thread.

What's fascinating about this is that the anesthetics had the same effect on plants as they do on animals and humans. Xenon and lidocaine aren't even remotely chemically similar.

1984 was a warning, not a how-to guide.
