Daniel is correct. Life takes an enormous amount of time to form. In fact, it is predicted using GTSM that only old objects will host it. So what this means is that if an object is young, then the life that is on it came from somewhere else.

Think of a tree. Sure a tree is only 200 years old, and is a living thing of course, but if there are squirrels running around on the branches, then they did not evolve on that specific tree, from much more primitive states. They simply jumped onto the tree from another one, or climbed up from the ground. Here is a paper that explains the time principle of GTSM:

I think it fits with Daniel's work, Jeremy England's work and GTSM.
