Lurker, you asked: "s the CBC news broadcast in the US? I'm wondering if Americans would change their views about the government and the foreign policy if they had access to more balanced news coverage?"

I don't know. It's not on the list of cable channels here. But some people might be able to get it through satellite services...

It's too bad we don't have more access to foreign news services in English, too. Luckily, there are some good internet outlets which provide good info, but most Americans are primarily influenced by the mainstream newspapers and TV news stations like Fox, MSNBC, and CNN which are going more and more conservative and promoting the neo-fascist ideology... and THEN there's talkradio and Clear Channel's organizing prowar and anti-progressive rallies. Yuck.
