If they want to do something to improve American society why don't they do something like targetting (I don't mean banning, I mean re-evaluating) the ultra-competitive and bullying jock mentality, whereby due to bias in favour of shallow, selfish, unintelligent athletes, a whole school hierarchy is formed with jocks at the top and nerds and other low-caste humans at the bottom.
No one in the US seems to seriously consider that the not infrequent shooting sprees by ego-trampled teenagers may be a direct backlash against this system.
