We learn about favorites--from friends and family. My mother really admired Abraham Lincoln, whereas I was thrilled to learn about Benjamin Franklin. That stuck, and I even had a picture taken on that famous bench at the entrance to U. of Penn next to his cast figure. When I spent my time in DC, activities revolved around the Mall and the Washington Monument, so I couldn't help but appreciate our reverence for the Presidency as practiced by our founders. It's our Heritage--and a precious Heritage it is.
