I'm glad that the climate thing touched a chord though, because it suggests you're more anti that, than, perhaps, cognizant if how varied collectivism is. You seem to have trained your mind to think that it's a left liberal thing only. It is not.
From here you have a choice, to deny that it is a much more inclusive concept, or embrace the greater reality.
You say you favour universal health. You would vote for it, no? If so, then how can you not say you're being a collectivist... in that context?
That's all I'm saying. This is not a discussion about my interest in climate change . It is about a term you introduced. See how you immediately got diverted? That should tell you something.
I'm inviting you to examine that concept more inclusively, that's all. That's the most relevant approach, imo.
If you opened up that way, I think you'll find that others here, self confessed liberals would agree with you on many sub topics. In the absence of that, you look partisan, as one who who only wants to apply a negative label some of the time.
That's why I invited this thread, to give you a chance to present yourself in a more accurate light. I'm trying to do you a favour, because clearly some people here have declared you a lost cause, which may be fair if you are indeed only willing to rail against some forms of collectivism.
If that's true then your issue can't really be about collectivism. It's narrower.
