Thank you - yes you are almost certainlly right.
I listened to some more of the book yesterday and the place Lidya was mentioned several times, so I looked that up and it was a part of Anatolia, so now I realise that it was fairly easy for ancientgreeks to travel there!

By the way, I am going to change the topic title - I realise the author is Edith Hill, not Ruth!
