I am listening to an audio book - The Ancient Greeks by Ruth Hill. It is very interesting and well written but so full of information that I can only listen to a section at a time!
At the moment Battus is the character being talked about and it seems he and a group sailed from Thera to found Cyrene. The author says that he took two boats, each rowed by 50 men, and I wonder if anyone knows anything about the women and children, animals, goods etc they took with them.
I would be most interested if someone can say.
Thank you.
Susan
