Myself, for a while, I've tought is the representation of "Cardines Mundi-Sky Column" - the mythological pillar with the "Grail" on top and the "Kaaba" on top of the "Grail" (and sometimes with a misterios bird on top of the "Kaaba").
Personally, I think this object is in Romania, where "the gods" used to rule around 5508 BC -Year of the Black Sea flood, which was at the origin of spreading myths/religions/legends in Eurasia and N-Africa:
But in the last days, because of this article, for absolutely no reason, I've started to think that maybe is a symbol of the Comet Encke - being represented globally as the (swirling) "swastika" -
This cosmic body has always being associated with the idea of rejuvenation, resurrection, eternal life...
Quoting: "Comet Encke or Encke's Comet (official designation: 2P/Encke) is a periodic comet that completes an orbit of the Sun once every three years - the shortest period of any known comet."
I don't know, it's just a feeling I have...or maybe is just a real link, a syncretism between the "Sky Column" and the Comet Encke.
Irony...is that "Encke" and "Ankh" are similar names, maybe history has a cracking sense of humor...
