A key to understanding the Jewish Scriptures (JS) is that they were stories and laws/rules for other people. The writers I doubt ever felt themselves subject to the same laws. That is why there are many, many very odd and very draconian rules in the JS in addition to the 10 C's.
So the problem that you will have from your approach is that you do not know who moses was and cannot prove any suspicion that you have.
Maybe whoever moses was, he was not subject to the rules or the morality in the JS.
My own view though is that 'moses' was a literary conglomeration of several folks making the case of ID especially difficult. But good luck!
