I don't mean to be flooding the history forum, just trying to get things rolling.

It appears Lincoln didn't necessarily want a nation full of freed slaves and campaigned to have Britain set up a colony in what is now Belize.

Yikes...Just a means to transition from a society of slavery to one of equal rights?
