I'm not sure what a "motive force" is, though they certainly did not pull those stones up hill using ropes. That is absurd on the face of it. They only adopted that nonsense, as they had no other answer to turn too.
Regardless of the system employed, stone pulling teams are debunked! No one can show any of us the math, and keep a straight face. Someone needs to place the aliens, giants, and stone pullers in a boat, and send them on their way, down the Nile.
