I just saw an episode of Arthur C Clarke on British Cable with Robert Bauval discussing the Pyramid chambers & shafts.
What I actually wanted to concentate on was a small part dicussing why the pyramids were shaped the way they were. One theory was that they would be harder to erode by the sand blasts if they were shaped triangular & sloped. They went off to a scout in the desert who had many photographs of "natural" formations in the desert that resembled pyramids & apparently inspired the design.
There was one photograph of 3 pyramid "mounds" with the last one being a little smaller than the other 2 (oooh sound a bit familiar?).
Does anyone know if these mounds have been studied to compare them to the Giza plateau pyramids? Is there any comparison in the layout?
