EoH: It is the cartouche shape which encircles the glyphs in this image which is the wrong way round for a correct rendering of the glyphs. The horizontal line of the cartouche would be at the bottom, not at the top. Does that make sense?
SC: Yes, absolutely. This is why I state that a source (master) cartouche that was originally presented horizontally was copied into the chamber and simply rotated 90*.
EoH: The inscription would NOT have been painted in situ with glyphs oriented 90 degrees clockwise ... the idea of in situ AE inscription is a nonsense. They didn't write vertical inscriptions which read from bottom to top.
SC: Indeed. But there does seem to be some evidence indicating that the cartouche oval was painted in-situ. If so, then, logically, it must have been copied vertically from an original master that had been horizontal but rotated 90*.
