It's not a stupid question. These glyphs are in reality arranged and read from right-to-left at the tomb. However, the glyphs in Vyse's book and their transcriptions have been arranged from left-right by the publisher/printer because western readers read from left to right. It may be that in this western arrangement the printer also inverted the actual glyphs (I doubt that though).
But it doesn't actually matter. Khufu can be written in a variety of ways as you have probably seen over the years. Also, I am not saying here that these cartouches in the Tomb of the Trades is the cartouche Vyse actually used to copy into the chamber. If this were the case then he'd have copied a cartocuhe into the chamber which had the hatched lines (as opposed to one that was blank which he had to later go back and 'fix'). It is only after seeing these versions of the Khufu cartouche in the Tomb of the Trades with the hatched lines that Vyse thinks there is something wrong with the cartocuhe in his journal (and, of course, the one he had placed in Campbell's Chamber).
