MS: Right up until the 5th of March this year, Creighton believed that the Vyse journal was in the British Museum. While he believed it was there, he made no effort to see it, much as he made no effort to view the Hill facsimiles there. It was only when I dropped the heaviest of heavy hints:
SC: Heavy hints! Bully for you. Why did I think it was in the British Museum?
"For example Vyse's journal.
This is now in the British Museum, but can be viewed by everyone. Martin Stower had the opportunity to see it, and he photocopied several key pages from it. He was so friendly to send me the most important pages of it. From here
Because that is where your good friend, Frank Doernenburg, said it was. Oh and I know you are most certainly not FD but that never stops you using his site when it suits you and slamming his site when it does not.
But I digress--why did you not present ALL the information on that page? Certainly when FD only showed a small section (bottom-left corner) of the page, the alarm bells should have been ringing, no? And when I presented FD's (low-res) copy here on GHMB a number of years ago, STILL you said nothing. And you kept your silence over the true contents of that page ever since. Only when I presented the full page in these magazine articles do you now come forward and start to discuss it. Why did you not give this information sooner? Effectively what your silence has done is to misinform through omission. Never a good thing to do and I recommend you desist from such practice in future.
Nooawaanbileyerheid--and careful the door doesn't smack your rear end on the way oot.
