I think your critiques lacks any clear understanding of the context of Mr. Creighton’s arguments. His discussion on the quarry marks is spot-on and is not a new argument as much as an addition to a large body of contrarian views. In terms of context, the discovery of the quarry marks came out of an era of rampant forgery of evidence, such as Piltdown Man. It’s not a stretch for a young archeologist in a burgeoning field cluttered with amateurs and treasure seekers for hire all vying for wealthy patronage.
The name itself as its depicted is ripe for dispute. Suspicion of the man who “discovered” them, however, is most definitely warranted.
