If you want to keep bashing Hancock, you go right ahead, but for me this horse is dead and I will take your advice and ignore you whenever you bring it up.
To ignore "Archae" or to not ignore "Archae", that is the *real* question on the GHMB message boards...
Because on the one hand, I imagine a majority of members here would probably prefer a less hostile atmosphere and certainly wouldn't mind if someone who repeatedly behaves in a rude and/or provocative manner to other members (including guest authors invited here to speak) were to be banned from the website (something which, as drastic as it sounds, is perfectly in keeping with a literal interpretation of the forum rules of engagement).
But on the other hand, I could much more easily see why some would actually want to look the other way in order to keep those kind of people around. Because in addition to the unintentional humor they regularly supply, trolls like "Archae" are honestly a perfect representation of the orthodox academic community in the fact that half of the time they don't know what the heck they're talking about and the other half of the time their theories are simply the less plausible option. (Both of which they try to hide by being a combination of obtuse and obnoxious.) Therefore, to be perfectly blunt, I think it's perfectly reasonable to expect that if someone like our friend "Archae" here is going to consistently act like an infantile child, then it's only fair to treat them accordingly.
That said, however, since there isn't an 'Ignore' button (or some similar message board feature), I guess we'll have to remember to do so without the aid of nice, polite acronyms/abbreviations used pretty much everywhere online today, that is, if we wish to stop collecting these PC cautions/warnings for asking obviously rhetorical questions in frustration from dealing with rude, obnoxious people. Not to mention the fact you were actually setting the record straight about Graham admitting his error and all that. Oh well, I guess. Perhaps we'll have to do with [expletive deleted] or something in future posts whenever warranted by the behavior of "Archae"...
And BTW- I just have to say, your most recent reply to me cracked me up!
