If the Giza pyramids are Orion's belt on the ground, could the sphinx be a representation of the movement of the belt with respect to time? The body of the sphinx is a lion, and the age of Leo was when Orion was at it's lowest point in the sky. The head of the sphinx is human, and the age of Aquarius is when Orion will reach it's highest point in the sky. Wasn't the sign of Aquarius represented by a man? Anyways, it's just a thought.
