I am compelled to answer you once more, just to make some things clear to you and others who are perhaps listening to you; thinking you have a valid point or two.
You tend to stray into the personal side of things here - which really isn't helpful, nor is it warranted.
I don't know what I have done to upset you, but its becoming tiresome for various reasons.
I think you have some serious issues.
I really don't see the point now in corresponding with someone who remains anonymous. It shocked me somewhat when I discovered that you took your name from a cartoon series.
And the reasons you give, are in my view, sanctimonious. Again, I think you have some serious issues.
As for my lack of response, when it comes to emails and posts, its not always like that - and I'm sure other authors would relate to what I am saying. It’s ironic that I am being criticized for this, because very few authors will interact regularly with people on forums. 1) Because they are often far too busy with their work, and 2) because they are wise to avoid the kind of thing I'm going through with you now.
Most would not entertain it. But I am all for the exchange of ideas on an equal footing.
I try to respond to my messages as best I can, but I sometimes receive up to 50 or more a day, and it’s very difficult to keep up with the different questions I am asked, or indeed the amount of material on different topics people expect me to read. I also have a few trusted friends whom I correspond with on a regular basis and I even find it difficult to keep up with their posts for various reasons. I do have a life aside from this.
Also, over the Christmas period, while all this was going on, my wife's mother had a massive stroke, which we are told she may not recover from, so that's the real reason I have been offline for over two weeks, as I felt it was time to concentrate on the family.
I come back and discover that my work has come under some criticism. Just goes to show that your work will always receive more attention or comes under critical scrutiny when you are absent.
I agree that some points you have raised were rightly justified, and these were corrected.
Other things you mention have been explained, and I thought we agreed on those things. However, you continue to pass negative judgment on me - and on things that really shouldn't concern you or others.
At the end of the day, and what you overlook, is that I have done nothing wrong but to present certain connections and insights I have made over the years and still continue to do, and hopefully for the benefit of others. I would say, that in my experience, mistakes are rare and/or often trivial and do not compromise the the overall picture I am trying to convey.
As for personal benefit, most of the time, the “price” one has to pay for this far outweigh the rewards. People will completely misinterpret and misunderstand your motives, what you are really about or where you are coming from, and will also accuse you of all kinds of things and for all kinds of personal reasons, while others will try to steal your work and/or promote themselves of the back of it while giving you bad press behind your back. But that's life.
By remaining anonymous, I don't suppose a lot of the really touches you bigbytes.
So, to tell the truth, I don't get much pleasure out of this work anymore; I would rather play music. I get more pleasure from that - and that's a shame because my motives and intentions have always been fairly straightforward and simple . . . share information . . . share knowledge.
Its a critical time.
