Simply a misunderstanding? I believe that would be the point that I am making. Some one with a half-baked idea decides to post his stuff, and adds fluff like the comment about the obelisk to fill up space, with out knowing what he is talking about. He needs to read a lot more about the DC map before he begins writing about it.
No one who knows anything about the monument would include statements like that in their posts and call themself a scholar.
That and the fact that the same article says that the right side of the triangle in the map points directly to the Capitol Building, suggest that we need to take everything that he writes with a grain of salt. The 'triangle' points south of the CB.
