Hi Nicholas,

In your pdf you mentioned that the reader would be grateful that the analysis would not be extended to the great pyramid. Actually, I would not have minded if it had been. The measure of the cubit from the great pyramid is 20.625 inches. If the cubit is regarded as one and a half feet (as was common in the ancient world), then this gives a length of 13.75 inches for the ancient Egyptian foot. This is a part of the same 24/25 sequence starting with the Roman foot:

Roman foot (11.68 inches) x 25/24 = Greek foot (12.165 inches)

Greet foot x 25/24 = 12.672 inches

12.672 inches x 25/24 = Saxon foot (13.2 inches or 1.1 feet)

13.2 inches x 25/24 = Egyptian foot (13.75 inches).

Given ancient miles of 5000 feet produces a 25/24 sequence that is centered on the English mile of 5280 feet:

The Roman foot of 11.68 inches equals 0.9732 feet

Roman: 0.9732 x 5000 = 4866 feet

Greek: 4866 feet X 25/24 = 5068.75 feet

English: 5068.75 x 25/24 = 5280 feet (English mile)

Saxon: 5280 x 25/24 = 5500 feet

Egyptian: 5500 x 25/24 = 5729 feet

The Egyptian foot of 13.75 inches equals 1.1458 feet.

1.1458 feet x 5000 = 5729 feet

Best,

Jim

PS - I agree with your findings regarding the geodesic aspect of the Greek foot and the presence of the "Roman" foot at Stonehenge.

PPS - I also believe the Egyptian foot of 13.75 inches or 1.1458 feet is related to the size of the earth and the number of times the earth rotates on it's axis in one revolution of the sun:

1.1458 feet x 36,524,000 = 41,849,200 feet

41,849,200 feet divided by 5280 = 7926 miles

7926 miles = equatorial diameter of earth.

Thus, the measure of the Egyptian foot, times the number of days in a year, times 100,000, equals the equatorial diameter of the earth.
