I'd like to comment on this also Angela..., I can understand how we're all connected to God but I disagree that God is only the sum of us and nothing more.
The vast and extremely complex but beautiful Creation has an architect, with his own unique personal consciousness, way beyond what we could ever conceive of (ask any Freemason even(!)). A supreme being cannot be a being unless it has its own unique consciousness. But we can only perceive that consciousness, at it's most intense, at present, in the eyes of the one we love (even if imaginary) and for that gift we should be grateful to God because we didn't create this ourselves, it was surely given to us.
I know some people mock and say there is no God but I've felt the one I love tell me that we may, one day, walk in his glory. I hope I can make the journey, nothing should be taken for granted!
wisdom lies in their simplification.
