Most people would be amazed to know how few means there are for water to get upward. For the main part almost all water that moves up is through evaporation (discounting currents in bodies of water) which the pyramid builders well understood;

1140c. (he is dried) by the wind of the great Isis, together with (which) the great Isis dried (him) like Horus.
...
1146a. N. is the pouring down of rain; he came forth as the coming into being of water;

In this utterance they describe the hydraulic cycle;

1146a. N. is the pouring down of rain; he came forth as the coming into being of water;
1146b. for he is the Nḥb-kȝ.w-serpent with the many coils;

Obviously "rain" is a very attractive hypothesis for the source of water at Giza but still the problem is the limited catchment area and the inability to hold significant amounts between rain events.

The Ur Nile to the north would have some significant elevation within a reasonable distance but there are no apparent canals or aqueducts. I always like an artesian effect from Lake Moerris but even at flood stage the head pressure wouldn't get water to the top of the first step. We just quickly run out of possibilities for a water source.

I've always had trouble finding good topo maps so am reduced to using satellite pictures.

One possibility that I've never entirely discounted is that the aquifers could be under pressure. This seems most improbable because any such pressure should be relieved as the water approaches the surface. The idea strikes me as somewhat offensive.

I tend to think the presence of dust sitting on the carbonated water in the Osiris Shaft is an important clue. Of course the fact that mineral laden water is bubbling up inside the walls of the Sphinx "temple" is also pretty interesting. I don't know why none of this is studied. I can hardly imagine what is more important than observing and testing all of these artefacts.

Until the questions are answered all we have is speculation. But one thing is certain; the pyramid exists and someone built it by some means. We have plenty of clues from the tiny little workers village to what is probably extensive infrastructure said by Herodotus to have taken ten years to the very titles of the men, women, and children who built it.

Man fears the pyramid, time fears man.
