"Tefnut makes the earth high under the sky by means of her arms" means exactly that and nothing else. But "tefnut" is not an imaginary consciousness that symbolizes "wet" like Egyptologists and the authors of the "book of the dead" believe(d). "Tefnut" is "downward" (theoretical). It is the state of something moving downward that makes the earth high under the sky.

It doesn't matter if you understand how something moving downward can make the earth high or not. This is what they said and it's what they meant. It's exactly the ONLY THING THEY MEANT. You can not parse these words without destroying the meaning. You can't change them in any way without destroying the meaning. You can't "read" these words without destroying the meaning.

It is by using water (seker) in counterweights that stone (earth) was lifted to build pyramids. It is the state of counterweights moving downward that made the earth high. This is what every line in the PT is saying because their words formed a complete whole. They used water to build the king. The mehet weret built the king. That which caused the king to die was healed meaning the pyramid was a mnemonic. This stuff is really pretty simple once you accept their words were meant LITERALLY.

CT #294

"The shape of the swallow is given to me by the flaming one, mistress of the isles, who ascends in the flame which is on the battlements of the sky."

This means exactly what it says. A swallow can be seen flying above the first step of the pyramid. This "spell" was probably written by someone who understood the original source material but couldn't speak the language. The "flaming one" is most probably the mks-sceptre which alerted men to report to work. It is very difficult to make heads or tails of most of the CT because most of it is written in modern language and before enough words were invented to express meaning like we do today.

I can only imagine what Faulkner believed this meant or what that meaning implied about the author of the line! I suppose he believed the author thought he turned into a swallow after being incinerated and flew off to the hereafter. I suppose he thought the author was speaking for himself or someone already dead. And right here we have a characteristic of "moribund" which allows us to use the word symbolically to apply to what Egyptologists believe about the pyramid builders. This is how OUR LANGUAGE works but it is not how Ancient Language worked. Egyptologists believe the people were moribund and large numbers of them spent their entire lives building tombs and contents for tombs or embalming dead people. This is caused by several things and chief among them is sample bias. Most of what we have and know about the people came from tombs (or what we believe are tombs) so it "appears" the people were obsessed with death. But their words in the PT and CT are not about death but about life and its celebration.

Man fears the pyramid, time fears man.
