Data from Wikipedia:

Dikti or Dicte is a mountain range on the east of the island of Crete in the regional unit of Lasithi. On the west it extends to the regional unit of Heraklion. According to some Hellenic mythology, Zeus was reared on this mountain in a cave called Dictaeon Antron (Psychro Cave). On the north of the main massif, the Lasithi Plateau is located. The topology of the mountain range is rich with plateaus (Lasithi, Katharo, Omalos Viannou, Limnakaro), valleys and secondary peaks. There are three peaks with an altitude above 2,000 m: Spathi 2148m (the highest point), Afentis Christos 2141m, and Lazaros 2085m.

Knossos, is the largest Bronze Age archaeological site on Crete and has been called Europe's oldest city. Settled as early as the Neolithic period, the name Knossos survives from ancient Helllenic references to the major city of Crete. The palace of Knossos eventually became the ceremonial and political centre of the Minoan civilization and culture. The palace was abandoned at some unknown time at the end of the Late Bronze Age, c. 1,380–1,100 BC. In the First Palace Period (around 2,000 BC), the urban area reached a size of as many as 18,000 people. In its peak, the palace and surrounding city boasted a population of 100,000 people shortly after 1,700 BC. The site of Knossos has had a very long history of human habitation, beginning with the founding of the first Neolithic settlement (c. 7,000 BC). Neolithic remains are prolific in Crete. They are found in caves, rock shelters, houses, and settlements. Knossos has a thick Neolithic layer indicating the site was a sequence of settlements before the Palace Period. The earliest was placed on bedrock.

An indication that the founders of Knossos knew the shape of the Earth(Google Earth data):

Knossos geocentric latitude = 35.1166°

Dikte(Spathi) geodetic latitude = 35.1180°

error = 0.0014°

The error translates to a North-South ground divergence of 157 meters. The archeological site of Knossos as seen using Google Earth has a diameter of roughly 210 meters. The distance between Knossos and mount Dikte is almost 23 miles. We thus have proof that 9000 years ago in Europe people knew the exact flattening of the Earth!
