Given the understanding of two stars being the sign for degrees in the later demotic script ( refer to [grahamhancock.com
]) I wondered whether this phrase in the Westcar papyrus might contain a measurement of some kind in degrees:
Specifically thinking that the incense balls may represent a pair of stars. The number 1,000 doesn’t make sense in degrees so I wondered whether a division by 60 might yield a result due to the sexagesimal origin of degrees. 1,000 divided by 60 equals 16.66...
Expressed in degrees; 16 degrees 40 minutes.
The galactic longitude of Alhena is 196 degrees 46 minutes. Around 180 degrees out of phase. Interesting.
