The net does seem to be changing the very nature of knowledge and not for the better.
Most of this thread does seem to have the "ring of truth" to it but in my opinion it's because the myths were built around the pyramids not the other way around. Certainly the constellations and terminology often pre-dates the pyramids but these were important to the builders primarily for practical reasons such as mnemonics, surveying points, and learning about nature. The myths, I believe, came later and were attempts at preserving the extensive knowledge of the builders.
More and more today is what someone else says it is regardless of evidence, logic, and experiment. People think whatever wiki, snopes, etc says is real and if they have no entry then it isn't really real. The world gets smaller and we all share the same "false" reality.
